Darshan was trained as a photojournalist—she graduated with a Diploma from Western Academy of Photography and went on to work for weekly newspaper in Victoria. Soon enough she was shooting her colleague's weddings on the weekends. She realized she loved photographing weddings, being in close proximity to such an intimate and eventful time of people's lives. Being entrusted as the memory keeper—documenting, and combining that documentation with the art of light, exposure, composition—has been overwhelmingly fulfilling.
Alex joined Darshan Photography shortly after the two of them fell in love. And Darshan was astounded at the things she was freed up to do on the wedding day when there were two people shooting instead of one. (Plus Alex carries most of the heavy stuff, leaving Darshan to her circus-like yoga-esque camera angles).
