Profile

Kateri House is a non-profit charitable organization. We are entirely dependent on donations for our work and personal needs. We issue donation receipts for income tax purposes.
At Kateri House we serve people of aboriginal ancestry and their families. We accompany those who wish in their journeys of faith and spirituality. The ministry team members -- Pat Grise, Waltera Van Gennip, and Roy Wilmhoff -- are Roman Catholic. We are a lay mission association and are open to new members to serve here and in northern communities. Training and formation is based on an internship model. Anyone who wishes to visit us on a come and see basis to discern a similar vocation is welcome.
We serve those who turn to us, regardless of race or creed. Our ministry is based in a regular house. Our areas of service include spiritual counseling, preparation for sacraments (e.g. baptism, marriage). We assist with emergency food supplies when needed and possible. Roy Wilmhoff is Catholic chaplain at the provincial men's Correctional Centre. We assist individuals and families with re-integration after someone has been incarcerated.

Opening Hours

Any time. Please phone first when possible. Our ministry is mobile and we may be out in the community. Our phone is almost always answered.
