The Essex Railway Station was built in 1887 of Michigan field stone and has been fully restored to its natural beauty. The original ladies’ waiting room is now a meeting room. The fireplace still adds to the ambience. An arched entranceway was once the driveway for horse and wagons.
Visitors can enjoy a historical photo tour of Essex, a variety or railroad memorabilia, a gift shop, antique cabooses, and a lovely walk through our beautiful heritage gardens.
Heritage Essex hosts several events throughout the year which include the Model Train show in February, Garden Delights and plant sale in May, Citizen of the Year dinner & auction in October and Crafts at the Station in December.
