Ombretta Cucina + Vino

We are an Italian restaurant with rustic and modern decor located in the heart of Port Credit, Mississauga boasting a sizeable selection of apperitivos, wine, cocktails, and digestivos.

A small glass of wine from the Veneto region. Enjoyed at breakfast, lunch, and dinner in northern Italy, an “ombra” is basically a social drink, perfect for stimulating conversation and appetite. The origin of the name, which means shadow in Italian, has its roots in a colourful episode of Venetian history. Chef/Owners Frank Mazzonetto and Anthony Maniccia, who both have classic culinary training, have tied this vision into the menu theme. From the ‘Bolognese Spring Rolls’ to the ‘Fettuccine Carbonara,” the menu has modern interpretations of classic Italian dishes. Boasting a sizeable selection of apperitivos, wine, cocktails, and digestivos, Ombretta’s cellar can accommodate all budgets.

Frank Mazzonetto and Anthony Maniccia have been friends since grade three. These two longtime friends, who have a strong, shared vision made it a reality. Frank and Anthony launched a successful food truck business in 2012 called Frankie Fettucine Food Truck Company. They had a 5 year plan to open a physical location and was able to achieve their goal 6 months ahead of schedule. On June 1st, 2017, Chef/Owners Frank and Anthony fulfilled one of their dreams by opening Ombretta Cucina + Vino in Port Credit, Mississauga. The restaurant was designed by themselves so when you take your first step inside, you’ll be immersed in Frank and Anthony’s labour of love that oozes class, style, and warmth.
